destruyeron su cultura
- 300 años más tarde fueron separados
entre varios estados nacionales
- y todavía siguen desunidos

The native situation
Quechua was the dominant language of the Inca Empire and is to day the language of the largest indigenous population in all America.
Quechua is spoken by 10 millions people scattered over 6 Andean countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru.
The language is split in several dialects that each has developed their own way of spelling - and in some cases too, they have developed their own alphabet.

La situación indígena
El Quechua era el idioma dominante del imperio Inca y hoy es el idioma del grupo indígena más grande de todo América.
El Quechua es hablado por 10 millones de habitantes de 6 países andinos:
Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador y Perú.
El idioma esta dividido en más dialectos donde cada uno ha desarrollado su propia escritura - y en algunos casos también su propio alfabeto.

Its consequence
That situation has as consequence a lack of common literature, lack of schoolbooks and educative systems, lack of bilingual teachers, lack of educated personnel for service and administration of their communities etc.
In the modern world there is a clear correlation between indigenous identity and schooling attainment
- and too between schooling attainment and poverty.

Too, of that reason a group of Q-leaders now have decided to search for a way to unify all their Q-language groups with a common written language. 

Su consecuencia
Esta situación tiene como consecuencia una falta de literatura en común, falta de libros escolares y sistemas educativos, falta de profesores bilingües, falta de personal educado para el servicio y administración de sus propias comunidades etc.
En el Mundo moderno hay una correlación directa entre identidad indígena y escolaridad
- y también entre educación escolar y pobreza.

 Por esta razón un grupo de lideres Q-hablantes han decidido buscar un camino para unificar todos sus grupos idiomáticos con una escritura común.

The political aspect
The most of the 10 millions Q-people has still no access to a bilingual education on base of their own culture.
The most progressive of the governments can offer a bilingual education - but only on base of a local Q-dialect.

El aspecto político
De estos 10 millones Q-hablantes la mayoría todavía no tienen acceso a educación bilingüe basándose en su propia cultura.
Lo más adelantado que los gobiernos pueden ofrecer es una educación bilingüe - pero a base de un Q-dialecto local.

Difficulties
The 6 nations have in their time of independence never resolved any problem in common.
On the contrary - politically and ideological they continue protecting their borders and sustaining their local focus.
Of that reason we can expect a natural resistance against changes - and this could cause a lot of national and regional flags raised in resistance.
This case has an INTERNATIONAL character and pass over more frontiers.

Dificultades
Desde los tiempos de independencia las 6 naciones nunca han resuelto ningún problema en común.
Por el contrario - política e ideológicamente continúan protegiendo sus fronteras y sosteniendo su enfoque local.
Por tal motivo se puede esperar una natural resistencia al cambio - e so podría hacer levantar suficientes banderas de interés nacional o regional en estos pueblos.
Este caso es de carácter INTERNACIONAL y atraviesa fronteras.

The challenge
The Q-people themselves is among the poorest and very few leaders in the national politic.
Therefor the conditions to get a result seems to depend of the ability of Q-people in the Andean community to lift this matter to an international level - or to GET HELP to do it.

El desafío
Los mismos Q-hablantes mismos estén entre los más pobres y existan muy pocos lideres políticos en su nación.
Por esto las condiciones para obtener un resultado parece dependiente de la habilidad de los Q-hablante en la comunidad Andina para levantar este caso a un nivel internacional - o CONSEGUIR AYUDA para logralo.
